Miami Editorial Makeup Artist

Fashion is what got me hooked on this industry years ago I and consider myself an editorial makeup artist over all else. My editorial makeup work has been published in and on the covers of prestigious magazines such as Harpers Bazaar, L’Officiel, Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Maxim, Grazia and Elle.

Collaborating with a whole team of talented artists to develop and a execute a unique story concept, the overflow of imagination, character creation, scouting locations and everything in between to create a series of art photographs that will get published in a magazine, online and beyond is incredibly fulfilling. I love being involved in the creative process, contribute ideas and channel all of my energy into designing looks that ultimately elevate the unique final production.

Whether we shoot a macro beauty editorial in an indoor photography studio, a sexy fashion photoshoot on south beach or an edgy photoshoot down the graffitied streets of downtown Wynwood. Hiring the right makeup artist is key to achieving the right mood, style and vibe.

You do not want to hire just any makeup artist off Instagram for an editorial shoot. Bridal niche makeup artists, for instance, do more or less the same handful of commercial looks over and over again. Although many do beautiful work, the amount of makeup used usually does not translate in a fashion medium and they lack the experience to create aesthetically pleasing and balanced high fashion or runway looks.

Makeup for Editorials is special. A strong editorial makeup artist is able to create every type of look imaginable on models of any gender and color without it looking overdone, cheap or gaudy. It is so important to be creative, know references (from ancient to modern times), have a deep understanding of lighting and a mastery of color and texture.

For me, editorial makeup often begins with surreally beautiful skin. Sometimes fashion makeup and hair is more of an abstract mood rather than standard technique. It takes experience and esthetic taste to know when to be adventurous or avant garde and when to pull back and paint an understated, minimalistic no-makeup look. Good work should be beautiful enough that Photographers should only need to photoshop the face minimally in post production.

With increasing frequency, brands are approaching us to do print and video advertisements for them with a more artful editorial eye and flair. This helps brands look more modern and get noticed so they connect with a more luxury clientele. Whether you are looking to shoot an editorial for a magazine or for a more luxe fashion style for your marketing, I can help bring your concept to life.

Miami has many amazing locations to shoot your next editorials. I am available and often travel to NYC, LA and worldwide for shoots.
