Fer Kinder for L'Offciel Magazine

This is one of my favorite shoots ever. We shot this the day before we were expecting a category 3 hurricane to hit South Florida. The stylist Francesca Lopresti had already pulled all of the wardrobe for the shoot, so we just decided to go ahead and do the photoshoot anyway. We were so lucky to have caught ‘The Calm Before the Storm’ but by the end of the shoot ( I think we did 8 looks total) it was so windy and we had to make sure our model Fernanda Kinder and the huge amount of clothing did not blow away! Normally this beach location in Key Biscayne is quite busy but apparently, all of the Miami locals were prepping for the storm.

Alessandra Fiorini captured this gorgeous series that was published in L’Officiel Baltics.

For Fer’s makeup, as usual, I did lots of skin prep. This time I used a variety of La Roche Posay products and Supergoop Glowstick sunscreen. On her skin, I used Kristofer Buckle Beauty cream foundations and a lot of Nars cream bronzer to make her look like she spends too much time in the sun. I wanted her to look dewy and on the sweaty side so I never once powdered the skin or set the makeup. on her eyes, I used more bronzer and a bit of Danessa Myricks nude cream palette over top and finished the eye off with some messy brown eyeliner for a squinty look and skipped mascara. I applied the same color on her lids to her cheeks and lips for a monochromatic look.

I purposely hid the hair or pulled little pieces that I kept wet and separated looking. I wanted her to look like she may have just bathed and thrown her hair up while in the river.
